Term 2 Religious Education PD - Staff Meeting
Today I enjoyed participating in my first PD for religious education. This was in preparation for teaching "God - Te Atua" strand of RE next term. Having a developing theological understanding of what we are teaching is important for me moving forwards as a Catholic educator. Enjoying the journey and learning from my colleagues along the way. Collaborative Discussions in preparation for teaching "God - Te Atua" next term. Discussing and unpacking ideas as a team was useful for my own learning. Resources to support implementations for prayer throughout the day. Our Director of Religious Studies also sent through some helpful links to support implementing prayer in class from an earlier PD in Term 1, which I found to be very helpful as a new teacher to Catholic schools. Healthy Active Learning Professional Development
Participated in the staff meeting led by Tracey Lee Dalton around incorporating Te Whare Tapa Wha into our health and PE curriculum. Various activities were modelled and was able to experience some of the learning activities outlined in the resources. I will look further into how I can incorporate some of these activities into our current programme. Next steps would look further into the resources to find lessons that are suited to year 2/3 then implement these in class.
